3rd Trimester

How long will your Dr let you go...

..past your due date?

My Dr told me yesterday that she usually doesn't let mom's go more than a week unless they want to, then it's two. She said she likes to give the babies at least a few days past their due dates before trying to kick them out!

Here's to hoping that he comes before his due date so I don't have to worry about that!

What about you ladies?

About the same for me as well...the latest they would let me go is 41 weeks.

  • One week.  I will be induced tomorrow.
  • 7 to 10 business days.

  • just asked this today at my appointment.. a week... I hope it doesn't come to that!
  • 41.5 days max, MW said the risk of still birth increases dramatically after 42 weeks.
  • Dumb me was on the phone...I didn't mean "business" days! Can you tell I am in sales! YIKES! Preggo brain...7 to 10 days.

  • My Dr mentioned at my first appointment that she wouldn't let me go a day past my due date. At the time I didn't find it odd because this is my first and I was/am clueless, but now I'm starting to wonder if I heard her wrong? I plan on asking when I'm a bit closer to my due date.

  • 1 week, max.

    However, I'll be having a scheduled c/s at 38w5d.

  • MW won't let me go past EDD- If things look favorable I can be induced anytime that last week.
  • 2 weeks.
  • My doctor won't let me go passed 1 week.  I was induced with my 1st DD at 39 weeks and 3 days due to low fluid.  I am in so much pain where I can't walk or even lift my leg up, that we are going to see if my cervix is favorable for induction again, but I would be 39 weeks and 5 days at that point.

  • My doc said 2 weeks the whole time, but 'due to the holiday' I'm scheduled for induction at 42 weeks and 2 days.  Here's hoping it doesn't come to that!

  • 2 weeks and I'm glad.  Inductions suck.  I know, I've had one.

I thought that was hilarious! I thought "what happens on Saturday? Does it just not count?"

We start NSTs after 40 weeks. Assuming LO is ok and I don't want to induce, as much as 2 weeks. But at this rate I'll give it a week before asking to be induced.

    Haha, this made me LOL.

  • 42 weeks if I am still looking good. I'll be checked every few days to make sure the baby is looking good, though.

I don't want to make it that far, and I don't want to get induced....hear that LO????

  • Mine will let me go to 42 weeks exactly.  I would very much like to avoid an induction and am glad my baby will get a chance to come on her own!

  • 41 weeks max. Though she did say if I haven't gone by the 20th (due the 21st) that she may go ahead and induce me that day. If not, I'll prob be induced at 40w6d. Hoping he comes on his own though :).

  • Our OB said 42 weeks.  Personally, any earlier than 41 weeks is too early as due dates aren't always accurate and the average gestation for a first-time mom is 41w3d anyway.

  • We don't even talk about it till after 40W. I think 41w6d is the longest I would be allowed.
