Don't shoot me...Did your kid wear a wig for Halloween?

The kids are pretty sure about what they want to be for Halloween.  DD wants to be Ariel.  She doesn't really need a red wig, but I didn't want to suggest it if she won't really wear it.  Thoughts?

  • Do you think she will keep it on?  If so then go for it, otherwise you could get red hairspray instead and then you don't have to worry about it.

Only way to know is to buy it and let her try it out.  If she doesnt wear it you can always sell it on ebay/craigslist.  How old is she?

What is your other dc going to be?  I LOVE halloween and have already been thinking about what the kids can be.  I will allow them to chose but I will make suggestions.  :)

BTW..I agree about the hairspray.  We sprayed the girls hair blue (thing 1 and thing 2) blue last year and it washed out in one wash.  It wasnt the cheap stuff though...I bought it at the mall for about $7 a can.  Bought 2 and used almost all of it.  But so worth it since it colored so well and washed out in one wash and didnt stain their hair or scalp.

  • Yes, she wore it the whole evening & all day at daycare.  She still asks to wear the whole costume.imageimage

  • Yes, but it was attached to a stocking cap that tied under the chin.  It's cold here on Halloween most years (MI).
  • Yes and she loved it. She will still wear it around the house.

  • My DD was Ariel last year.  I never thought she'd wear the wig and keep it on but she did. She loved it.  And it made the outfit.
  • Abby was Ariel last year and I got her the red wig, she wore it for a few minutes and it came off.  She has used it a bit for dress up since though.
  • Mine did. She wanted to be Jasmine but she has short, brown hair so I got her the wig. She loved it and still asks to wear it when she puts on the costume (loves to swing the big ponytail around).
