My first response would be to go for Lauren - I mean Lauren Becall and Ralph Lauren are great images. But Laura is timeless, classic and not super popular. Ugh...I can't decide either!
I like them both, which I vote for might depend on your last name. If you last name ends with a "n" (i.e. Henderson, Johnson) go with Laura. LaureN -----N doesn't seem to flow well, IMO.
Laura is more timeless. Lauren was super popular in the 1980's and that's what I think of when I hear that name. I keep reading that Laura is dated, but actually I think Lauren is more so.

I like both, but if I had to pick one, I would pick Lauren.
I think Lauren is classic enough these days (ie- has been around as a female name for over 50 years and has been popular for over 35 years) and I just think it is a more powerful name than Laura. However-- Laura is nice too, but just does not seem as powerful and fresh as Lauren IMO.
I'm not going to be any help because I like both, but they give off different vibes for me...both because of the sound of the name and people I know with the name.
I have a 36-year old cousin that I always looked up to named Lauren. The name makes me think of someone popular, spunky, friendly, tomboy-ish.
At the same time, I have a 62-year old aunt named Laura (my fave aunt) and my OB (who I love) is also Laura (she's also about 36 years old). Their name makes me think of someone more feminine, sophisticated, intelligent, professional...
Re: Laura or Lauren
Definitely Lauren! Lauren IMO just sounds better and is definitely a name that a professional can have.
I'll be the lone wolf.
I love Laura - I think it's timeless. Lauren is okay too, but I much prefer Laura. Not entirely sure why.

How about the root of both names, "Laurel"? It means "victory"... Not that I'm biased towards it in any way.

My thoughts exactly.

Lauren is very popular right now, so I vote Laura b/c it is timeless!
I agree!
