Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Do I have the only 5 month old NOT rolling?

Well, DD rolls back to tummy, but she hasn't done tummy to back even once.  She gets plenty of tummy time - she actually likes being on her tummy now.  She can rotate herself on her back and on her stomach.  She can also scoot forward and backward a little when she's on her stomach.  She also does these little push-ups which makes me think she's going to push herself over.  But no rolling!

  • My almost 5 month old has never rolled either way, not once.

  • Nope. DD rolls back to tummy constantly, but hasn't figured out tummy to back.
  • My DD is 5.5 months old and she is only rolling from tummy to back...she can get roll onto each SIDE from her back--but no back to tummy yet.  She can sit unassisted for 30 seconds or so too Big Smile
  • Nope.  LO will roll to her back if she gets super mad about being on her tummy.  Usually just screams until you pick her up.  She has never rolled back to front.
  • DS does not roll tummy to back or back to tummy!  He HATES tummy time and only in the last week has started to finally enjoy it a bit - he can now push himself up a bit and look around with his head up.  My Pedi said not to worry about it, that he isn't sure why this "milestone" is even still on the list, since babies are no longer placed to sleep on their tummy - which is why this was important to look out for initially back when it was important.  I figure he will roll when he's ready :)

  • DD has been rolling tummy to back for maybe 3 weeks now.  She JUST first rolled back to tummy on Monday.  :)

  • Your's can do more than mine. My guy only rolls from tummy to back, and is happy to just lay on his back and rock side to side holding his toes.
    Effing crazy people.
  • My 5 month and 2 weeker doesn't roll at all :(

  • Lo tries and tries, but her chubby leg and booty get in the way.  Embarrassed  It is pretty cute actually.  She has mastered scooting backward all over the place though.

  • DD can roll. (I've seen her do tummy to back at least 4 times.) But she won't. She has no desire to. She just yells for mommy when she's tired of laying where she's at. *sigh*

    She'll be 5 months on the 9th.

But (if it's any consolation) my DS didn't roll at all until a few days before he turned 5 months...and then he was walking by 9 months. So, I suppose it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

I just wish she'd roll so she'd stop getting so frustrated.

This is a test. This is only a test.
  • My LO is just starting to really roll. Before was rolling once every few days, and now he's really getting the hang of it. Now he needs to move his arm out from under him so he'll be completely on his tummy. I know he'll get it.
