First time mommies, when did you have your LO? clicky

Just wondering! I'm getting anxious Sad I haven't been checked yet so I have no idea if I'm progressing or not. I have my 39 week appt. tomorrow, but I doubt I'll be checked. They did say the latest they will let me go would be the 16th, 1 week after my due date.

Also, did sex help move things along for you ladies?

Not really sure if sex worked...we did do it every night for a week before labor started, but I also tried other OWTs like spicy food, lots of walking, and fresh pineapple the day before as well. All of those, one of those, of none of those may have done it. Honestly, I think it's just a matter of when your body is ready. GL!

I went into labor at 40w4d and delivered at 40w5d. If you have to scedule an induction I recommend that you wait as long as possible to give your body time to go naturally. My induction was set to be at 41w5d and I delivered a week "early".

Enjoy the last few days / weeks with your pregnant body. As uncomfortable and ready as I was to have my baby... I miss being pregnant.

I was induced with both. #1 at 38w0d and #2 at 39w1d.

Who knows how long I would have gone though! (And I was 6cm/80% for 3 weeks with #2 before my induction.)

My water broke on my due date, I had a very long long labor though and didn't actually have him for 2 days later. Who knows if sex did help or if my body was just ready but my DH and I were sexually active almost every day. We weren't trying to induce labor though.

Our DS came at 38wks 4d. I walked a little and bounced on a birthing ball maybe for like a total of 30mins. My DF and I had sex at exactly 37wks and that was it... It was way to uncomfortable! So needless to say sex didn't help anything. Good luck at your appt!

I went at 40w 4d. I was in labor on a Tuesday and didn't have her til Thursday. I think walking helped a lot. We tried sex a few times, but I was just too big and uncomfortable.

Try to hang in there. The end totally sucks! It will be over soon enough. Just enjoy being able to go places without a car seat, stroller, diaper bag, etc.

I had baby at 39 weeks and yes, DH and I had sex the night before...by 4:15 my water broke! It did the trick for us but everyone's different!

I was induced at 41 weeks and 6 days but I had to have a c-section because I didn't progress past 1 cm. We had sex but it never worked towards starting labor.

DS came two days before his due date and I never tried any of the OWTs, sex, or walking. As far as progress, I was less than 1cm when I stopped at the clinic before heading to the hospital and I had my baby an hour and twenty minutes later.

I know the wait sucks but try not to stress about it too much. Good luck!

We had sex twice the day my water broke. It was only 3 days before my EDD, so not sure it helped or my body was just ready anyway.

I wasn't checked my entire pregnancy by the MW and preferred it that way. I walked/waddled every day. I could handle about 20 minutes before I had to rest (my hips were crazy sore and pinched last tri).

I went into labour on the 13th, a couple days after my due date. I was doing a lot of child's pose to help stretch my hips and back, and that's when my water broke. No sex. No way was I having sex I think my body was simply ready to go on that day and nothing I did prior actually "induced" labour. If child' pose was what I happened to be doing when my water broke, I saw it as a fluke, not an induction.

You're almost there. It'll happen sooner than later.

i walked and hiked a ton, tried every OWT and never progressed. i was induced at 41w and 1d (not dilated and only 35% effaced)

Thanks ladies for all of your replies! I know it will happen when my body and baby is ready. The waiting does suck, but there really isn't anything else to do, is there? lol. I am just so uncomfortable right now and can't wait to be done! Can't wait to meet this little man! You all have been there Smile

No, I don't think sex helped the cause...just made me more uncomfortable

My trick was nipple stimulation...I sat on the couch for 30 minutes to see if it would work, and went into labor within an hour of doing it. Obviously, it could have just been time to have the baby, but I think it helped. I was 40 wks 3 days.

I had DS between 7 and 12 days early (I had a couple different due dates). We had sex about a week before so that didn't help. I was 3 cm for 4 weeks and at 90% the last 2 weeks. I had my membranes stripped and went into labor 12 hours later so my suggestion would be to do that.

You need to ask your Doc to check you. I have always been checked from 36 weeks on with all 4 that I have had so far. I would definatly question why I haven't been checked yet. Good Luck!!
