We have a house now. Praise the Lord. Latest closing date on contract is July 23rd, but we hope to have everything done and ready to close well before that. DH's going to ask for early occupancy too, just so we can have the carpets cleaned and start painting (walls are scratched and dirty). July 23rd will put us with 8 weeks until the baby comes (scheduled c.s) so this couldn't have been over at a better time. Thank you ladies for your thoughts!

    Congrats! I hope they're crazy enough to give you early occupancy (goodness- that would make me run as a seller, though ;), and that you're able to get everything you need done. BTW, just as an aside, in case you're getting an FHA loan, early occupancy can screw things up majorly for closing- so make sure you talk to your lender, if that's the case. Good luck!

    The house actually has moved from the "seller" to a relocation company. Apparently, the last people were relocated and so the company bought the house from them after it didn't sell shortly after they had to relocate. So it's a company that owns it now, not an actual "seller". And our realtor said it would not be a problem for anything on our end, I"ll be sure DH talks to the mortgage people. Thanks!
