Anyone not give their LO the vitamins when BFing? I'm so inconsistent, I can't remember to give it to him. But when I do, he spits it all up anyhow. Maybe I'm not timning it right?
*raises hand* We never did. Was told it was not necessary, and they got everything they needed from breast milk (minus vit D, which we just figured he got enough indirect sunlight for).

my pedi recommended it, and i tried to remember, but ds screamed every time i gave it to him. so I stopped. he's never had any issues. never been anemic, etc. So, even if my pedi recommends it with ds#2, I will not do it unless it is completely necessary (which I doubt it will be!)
I have the Tri-V-Sol but only give is once in a while. At first we did it a couple times/week and now it's just when I remember...the last time being like 2-3 weeks ago. Since it's mainly for Vit D I'm sure she gets enough just walking in/out of stores and in the car, although early on/in the winter I was much more aware of keeping her covered/out of direct light so it may have been more important then.
I'm not. I'm paying special attention to my diet to ensure that LO is getting adequate nutrition. I think that it is important to have a natural diet rather than synthetic. Of course, if there became a deficiency that we couldn't solve then I'd give him vitamins.
I never gave my kids any. I just made sure that I was getting plenty of Vitamin D. They've found that BF babies with low vitamin D were usually nursing from mothers with low vitamin D.It's not that BM can't have vitamin D in it, it's that it usually doesn't because most moms don't get enough of it.
