I have been having cramping all day that has been constant. i have been having contractions as well but they are difficult to time as my stomach feels pretty hard constantly as there is no more room inside there. I am able to feel some of them but think I could be missing some due to the severe cramping pain. Also, i have more swelling in my feet than i have had this whole pg....after i was admitted a few weeks ago for pre-term labor I became concerned about these symptoms particulary the cramping so i called my docs office and the nurse called me back and was sort of talking down to me and she asked if this was my first baby,,,I said no, 2nd & 3rd and she was like oh twins? WTF? Look at my chart...why do i have to call the damn answering sevice and give them all my info & 2nd of all I am just asking if this is normal to feel along with severe pressure on pelvis & rectum...I did not have pains like this with my son...if I had all the answers I wouldn't call...so she said well come in if you feel like you need to....ugh...i really am discourage because the pain brings me to tears but I do not want to waste my time and can't afford to waste my husband's time...if he misses work then he does not get paid and he just started a new job after being laid off for 9 months...but I don't want to put myself or these babies in any kind of danger...what are your thoughts? is this normal? should I go in? I am just frustrated with the whole medical process and feel as though she should consult a doctor when it is not a routine pg and either have the dr. call or pass along the message instead of half-ass answers...
Re: the nurse at my doctors office is a jerk...
There would be no question. I doubt I would call first, either.
oh my! I hope you were able to actually speak with the doc on call and get seen...I would not mess around this late in the game with snarky nurses...
I understand worrying about your husband missing work...my DH started a new job after being laid off for 6 months 2 weeks before I went in to have the girls...but most companies and bosses understand that it is non-negotiable the husband will be there for his wife and the birth of his children whether or not it means missing a day or 2 of work...even unpaid...
Yeah, just go in.
I am a nurse....and have been treated like crap from the 2 nurses @ my docs office. I like my doc, so I have decided to stay. I just see no need to be rude to patients.
Sorry she was rude to you. Hope you are feeling better.
