Parenting after a Loss

**lkstor**

I had posted a few days ago about some BF issues and am still in a little bit of a rut.  I'm worried my supply is low and Will's not getting enough (although he was in the 95% percentile at his 9 month).  But his diapers seem less wet, and I feel empty almost all the time.  I'm not sure if he is disinterested because there's not much milk, or if there's not much milk because he's disinterested(self-weaning?).  It's a catch 22.  Anyhow, he currently nurses five times a day and I'm wondering if it makes sense to drop a session.  Will he take more at the other sessions if I drop one?  My fear is that by dropping a session he will be taking even less.  Any input would be great.  Thanks so much!

  • Any chance he's getting his top front teeth? Around nine months it is common for babies to show less interest. But according to everything I've seen/read - babies don't self-wean before one. I do notice that my breasts feel much less full compared to my early nursing days... But I still get a good amount when I pump, so it doesn't seem to indicate any supply issues. Lots of bottle fed babies will drop a bottle around 9 months as they take more solids... But in your case I'm not sure that dropping a nursing session will improve things. Have you tried nursing in a dark room with white noise? Or side-lying in bed?
