  • We haven't started solids yet but we'll be going for solids then breast feeding. I grew up with "finish your dinner first, then drink your beverage" as kind of a rule in the house and it works so I'll be sticking to that.
  • I voted bottle then solids - but we don't do evening yet, only morning foods for dd so far.

    ???

From what I understand- bottle then solids- because the bottle is still providing the main nutrients for LO so they need to make sure to get it and not be full on the solids.

That being said...I switch it up and somtimes I will do just bottle or just solids. Not too worried about it

As long as your LO is still meeting the daily intake for formula (the pedi said 30-32 ounces for my DD) you should offer solids first.

The bottle is "easier" and it's hard to get them to eat the food if thry know they can drink a bottle instead.

This has just been my experience with two kids: solids first are easier. But, every baby is different.  Wink

This is a test. This is only a test.
  • I voted bottle then solids, b/c I'm BFing DD however much she wants then giving her a tablespoon of oatmeal (only at night).  She also STTN.  (most of the time)

we haven't started yet, but technically you are supposed to do bottle/breastfeed first because that is the main nutrition.

Though at night time I might switch it, some solids then nurse right before bed

  • If I do solids first DS will not drink all his milk - so I have MIL do bottles first.

  • DD's Pediatrician told us to BF first, then give solids since her main source of nutrition is in the milk.
