XP: Can you help with slow-flow bottles?

DD only gets a bottle when I pump, which is rare.  So far she has had 4 bottles and the milk comes out too fast so she's been choking on it.  I have tried Born Free and Tommy Tippee and both "Level 1" nipples are too fast for my DD.  Any recs for the SLOWEST flow bottle nipple out there?

  • I do the same thing and the best I have found so far are the Nuk slow flow.  The Tommy Tippee and Medela are too fast for her.  The Nuk is REALLY slow, but it keeps her from choking and from spitting up!
  • We use and love the First Years Breastflow bottles. They work like your breast does so LO controls the flow. I've only seen them at target, our BRU doesn't carry them.

Thanks so much for asking this question because I'm having the same problem with my DD.  I'm off to Target to check out what they have.

  • TT was entirely too fast for my baby.  The slow flow nipple on playtex drop ins worked best for us.

  • def slow flow nuk (target def sells it) and playtex drop ins worked the best for us, and we tried EVERYTHING lol (I prefer nuk, husband liked drop ins not sure why)
  • We use first years breast flow.  I had to supplement with formula for a day or two before my milk came in and DS took it really well.  I couldn't find them in any stores so I bought them off of Amazon.
  • We use Doctor Brown's preemie nipple and it works great.
