I'm in phobia HELL

I hate spiders, DH knows I hate spiders. Well a spider must have been hiding in our kitchen where I couldnt see it and well it's had babies.

i'm in tears.

they.are.everywhere.

DH doesnt give a sh*t and wont help me, they are crawling on the counters, on me, they are on A swing, his bottles.....

again i repeat...i'm in tears.

Anyone know how to kill these baby spiders in mass quantities and quickly?

  • OMG I have no idea how to kill them all, but I would be freaking out!

  • Oh God!  I don't know what I would do!!!!  Sorry I don't have any ideas for mass destruction of the 8-legged monsters.
  • I know it may be difficult, but could you vacate your house for the day and set off a bug bomb?  I know they are full of chemicals and stuff, but that's the only resolution I can think of.
  • omfg. i would be FREAKING out.  I can't believe your husband is being such an a$$!

This!  All I can think of is to get a can of bug spray and spray everywhere.

    Visit The Nest!
  • I am with Wendy.  Wow.  I don't think I would put a bug bomb in the kitchen.  You are going to have to spray them.  If you start wiping your counters with a windex towel, you will get a bunch with one swoop and they will die really easily.  Put a rubber glove on and then they won't get on you.

    I am so sorry, honey.

    THIS!!!

  • I hear you on the phobia hell! Spiders are the most gruesome creatures on this planet!

If they were still in the web, I would say torch the web, but since there are all over your counter burning down the kitchen probably isn't an option....I think the bug spray PP mentioned should do the trick.

Hugz honey, I'm so sorry your DH won't help you out on this one.

  • Oh no!!!  I hope you get it figured out quickly!
  • Might be worth calling in a bug guy to take care of the problem.  Then maybe DH will take you seriously.  GL and hugs!
  • I actually wouldn't bug bomb with a baby unless you want to clear out for a whole day and scrub everything afterwards. There's a company called EcoSMART, you can get their stuff in Whole Foods. It's safe for A so you can spray it on his toys and stuff, too. I'd still wash everything after you're done spraying of course, but it's not as horrible for him as Raid or something like that would be. The Home Pest Control would be the stuff you need.

Or you can go old school and take a piece of cardboard (one side of a cereal box for example) then take masking tape and warp it around the box sticky side out.  You can then stick it to a wall, the floor, cupboards... wherever the spiders are hanging out the most.  They get stuck then you can just throw it out.  You may need to make several of these, though.

And keep windows open without the screens, eventually they'll find their way out.
