Glucose Test today

I have my gluclose test here in a couple of hours...does anyone have any suggestions?  I have heard good and bad things, has any one felt like crap after?

    I didn't feel well after, but I had to fast for the test and then I had to get pricked twice because I was dehydrated and they couldn't get enough blood out for the test.

    Just put something in your purse or car (juice and something to snack on) or go somewhere to eat right after.

    Once I ate, I felt fine.

    I had mine yesterday, mine was the one hour and I didn't need to fast. I felt ok afterwards. I had a granola bar in my purse for after the blood draw. I also had eggs for breakfast so not having an empty stomach may have helped with not feeling sick afterwards.

    If it's the 1-hour, it really wasn't that bad at all.  The drink tasted like super sweet orange Gatorade.  Fortunately the lab had the drinks in the fridge so it was nice and cold which is easier to drink.  You have to chug it all down in 5 minutes and then wait an hour for them to draw blood.  I had to fast for mine overnight (12 hours) so I was starving after it was done, but aside of that, I thought it was going to be much worse.  You'll be fine!  Big Smile

    I had to fast, so I don't know if you had to either, but I felt sick about half way through and the last half hour seemed the longest. I was happy when it was over and I could drink water and eat something. If you feel sick after I suggest eating something.

    I was completely fine after both the 1-hour and 3-hour.  The only problem I had was having to sit in the hospital the entire time for the 3-hour.  It's hard not to nap and accidentally drool on a stranger when you're bored for 3-hours in the morning. Stick out tongue

    But seriously, I didn't feel sick or weird after it at all.  Also, I drank the orange flavored one, if that helps.

    Batman likes to watch cartoons on the weekends. Whatever.

    Mine is today too! But they didn't tell me to fast at all! PP said was she was dehydrated. I better keep drinking water cuz I sure don't want to be pricked over and over! Goodluck and hope we both pass! Don't be nervous! Its just a test and you don't have to study for it! Big Smile

    I felt really jittery like I drank a bunch of coffee awhile after drinking the solution. Then I started to worry that the jitteryness was a result of gestational diabetes. I worried over nothing. My results came back great! So if you feel jittery, don't let it panic you :)
