Hi everyone,
I'm not in my first trimester yet... I'm in the 2ww, and have never been pregnant before. Right now is right around the time implantation should occur if I managed to conceive. I'm curious... trying to get a general, unscientific idea of how many now-pregnant women noticed implantation bleeding. I would guess that the ladies on the bump (or at least on the TTC board, and I bet most of the people on the 1st trimester board migrated from the TTC board) would be most likely to notice bleeding if it occurred. Since most of you actively tried to get pregnant, you're probably very aware of every little change. I'm just wondering what to expect... if I don't notice any bleeding around this time (and am looking carefully) should I expect that I was not successful in my TTC efforts? What were your experiences?
Re: 1st trimester ladies... how many noticed implantation bleeding?
The general concensus you are going to get here, with this question, is that it is not common.
I have had it in 3 out of 4 pregnancies.
2nd pregnancy was dark brownish and dark red mix...kinda pastey like.
3rd pregnancy was very red, light spotting that lasted about a day and a half.
4th pregnancy was very scant, bright red drops when I wiped. No similarities what so ever so there is not much to gain by going off of possible implantation bleeding. Just because you don't have it doesn't mean you aren't pregnant. HTH
I did not experience implantation bleeding for either of my pregnancies. My brother's girlfriend did though (thats when I told her to take a HPT). It isn't incredibly common though.
Don't discount pregnancy if you didn't experience bleeding....just wait til you expect AF and take a test!
Personally, I did not.
Fertility Friend did a study and found that around 20-30% of pregnant women experienced some sort of spotting during their LP before they found out they were pregnant. Not all that rare for pregnant women.
Fertility Friend also did a study and found that around 15-20% of ladies who are trying to get pregnant experienced spotting during their LP. That includes ladies who ended up being pregnant, and those that did not.
For someone trying to conceive, implantation bleeding is pretty rare. Based on the statistics above (and if you take into the consideration that you have a 20% chance of getting pregnant every cycle), about 4-6 out of 100 ladies trying to get pregnant will experience IB in a given cycle. HTH, and GL!

I didn't have it with either of my pregnancies. I did have achy cramps that felt like my uterus was almost bruised.
Implantation bleeding is rare.
mchupie - thanks, those are interesting statistics.
This website can be really helpful, but honestly I think it's made me way more obsessive than I would have been had I not started reading it! I get anxious and try to interpret every little thing now. :-)
This.
Out of 6 pregnancies of which we've had 2 live births I had implantation bleeding a couple of times. This time it happened about 4w 3d and then again a day later where it was brown. I had bleeding again at 6w and 7w but none since. Something I have found though for those that didn't get implantation bleeding, sometimes you will get a brownish dishcharge at 6w or 7w which is leftoever IB or the baby burrowing deeper.
HTH
If you are sure of your ovulation date, that was probably mid-cycle spotting, not implantation bleeding. Implantation doesn't occur until 6+ dpo.
If you aren't sure of your ovulation date (through BBT charting), you probably ovulated earlier than you thought

If it was only 2 days after you ovulated, i'm sure it was ovulation spotting which does happen albeit, not often. Implantation does not occur that early. Sounds like a coincidence unless it was really later in your cycle and you thought it was 2 days.
OP please don't get your hopes up and discount it one way or another. The only way to know is to test. Good luck!

I didn't have any implantation bleeding my first 3 pregnancies. I can't remember if I did for the 4th one so I think no. I did have it for the 5th one and this one I had some spotting right when I thought I was getting AF. It really wasn't AF, because I took a test a few days later after that spotting (it was about 5 days later actually) and it turned out I was positively pregnant. So I am not sure if it was "implantation" or just old blood...
I don't know if that helps but it is not necessary to have implantation bleeding. Not having it doesn't mean that you are not pregnant like others have said.
No bleeding, but very, very, very crampy.
Good luck!

I didn't have any bleeding. Of course, that was how I realized I was pregnant not having any period. (-; I'd never heard of it until I started reading the boards.
I had LOADS of cramping though. After the 2nd straight week of it, I started to get suspicious. My husband knew I was preggo before I did.
