lightweight stroller

Ok, this may seem like a silly question but I'd like to know if having a lightweight stroller is "worth it."  We like the Chicco Liteway but I hate to dish out the $130 if it's not fully worth it.  What have you ladies found in your experience?? We have the Chicco travel system that we "could" use for most purposes, right?

Re: lightweight stroller

  • OMG- I love my lightweight stroller!  I used the stroller from my travel system until I couldn't take it anymore.  At that point, I ordered a McClaren lightweight stroller.  It is so much easier to grab and throw in the care.  Go for it- order the lightweight.

  • I'm in the process of looking for an umbrella stroller right now! I'm SO SICK of dealing with a big heavy stroller, and plain and simple, I'm not going to be ABLE to handle it when I'm huge!! It takes up WAY too much space in my tiny car. My travel system stroller is driving me craaaaaaaazy!
  • We LOVE our Graco Ipo.  It's light weight (compared to the travel system strollers), it reclines, and we can use it up to 50 pounds.

  • We have the Baby Jogger City Mini and I LOVE it!  We never got a travel system, my SIL had one and she was always complaining about how heavy and bulky the stroller was so I just never bothered.  It's really light weight, and folds up super flat with one hand!  My only complaint is the small basket underneath, and that you have to buy the parent console/cup holder and LO's snack tray separate.  But worth it IMO.

BUY IT. I literally have not touched my travel system stroller since I bought the Chicco Liteway 3 months ago. It's so much easier to bring around than a huge stroller. Mine broke (my dad ran over it with his truck! - don't ask) and I'm buying another one- immediately. I miss it already and it only got run over 2 days ago. It's definitely worth it.
  • I could NOT survive without mine. It's a huge help since DD is ridiculously heavy now and like to be upright looking around. I love my joggig stroller but it takes up half of my trunk and is hard to shop with her given it's size. I bougth a used Maclaren Triumph and it has changed my life-I kid a little but I'm so much more mobile with her now.
  • I love our lightweight stroller! We have the Maclaren Volo and it is so much easier to use. We haven't used our other stroller in months.
  • 100% definitely worth it!  We have a huge heavy duty stroller and it's wonderful for long walks outside or hikes, but it is so heavy and such a PITA for quick trips anywhere.  We use our light weight stroller more often than we use the heavy one.  I can't imagine having to lug the heavy stroller all of the place we take the light weight one!!!

  • Thanks so much ladies!! We went and got the Chicco Liteway tonight. I'm looking forward to using it and not lugging the travel system stroller out of the trunk!
