New to The Bump

New To Bump ...

Hi Everyone! New to Bump...

Quite the surprise-threw pills away on April 20 after 12 1/2 years (I'm 32, hubs is 33) and two and a half weeks later, BAM. Preggers. Yikes. Thought it'd take a little more time than that! Feel very fortunate. Have a ways to go before telling family (only 9 wks tomorrow) -

Looking for pregnant women and moms to share their best advice (I know you all have some!)

Re: New To Bump ...

  • Welcome to the board

There are a few things you should know about this website's forums. First, it is frowned upon to use words like "preggers" because we're adults who use the correct terminology (pg is fine for an abbreviation).

Second, it is not wise to broadcast your insanely-easy success getting pregnant. Many, many women here have tried for months and years. Many, many women have had losses. On the other hand, there are many women who have had instant success like you've had. Just try to practice restraint in beaming with pride, for there are others who are hurting.

Every board has its own set of rules, just use these to get you started.  Good luck

Jessica-thanks for the board forum tips. I understand about using "preggers" sorry; most people I know (in their 30s) still use the term so I wasn't sure about etiquette.

However, I do have to disagree with you about the easy-success of my becoming pregnant. People will read that as they will.I have many friends who have been trying for a long time without success AND/OR have found out that they cannot get pregnant at all. I have been very respectful of this and as I stated in my post-I said I feel very fortunate. And i'm very sensitive and aware of how others are not in my position. Also, Im only 9 weeks pregnant myself-I am aware that a miscarriage could still happen to me.
