Babies: 6 - 9 Months

what does your LO do all day?

Going to sound crazy.. but since I am now off for the summer I'm trying to figure out what to do with the baby when she's not sleeping.... (she takes both morning and afternoon naps)

She does exersaucer for bits at a time, I try to play with her on the floor, .. she's still a little tipsy when sitting, so I can't leave her and try to use Boppy, but she rolls over it.   I just put her in the pack n play with some toys.. but I don't know how long it will last.. and she usually falls over in that too...What do you do??  She's on the verge of crawling...

Re: what does your LO do all day?

  • DD goes to dc, but I get a daily rundown of what she does.  Almost every day, they go for a walk, have storytime, and play in the sprinkler.  When the other kids are napping, DD is up, so my dcp (it's in home), will bring Emma into the kitchen with her and she "helps" make snacks and dinner.  DCP will talk to her the whole time, so that she's "learning" what she's doing.  Soem days they go to the library for story time, too, or go to the park.

  • I pop my little guy in a sling or moby and get stuff done around the house.  I can cook, clean etc when I wear him - and he's happy too!

The jolly jumper is also very popular in our house too.  LO is happy in it for 20 minutes or so - which gives me a chance to have a shower LOL!

  • Well DD goes to daycare during the week. But wknds we try to keep a routine.

Floor time, exersaucer time, reading time, outside playing on the grass (she loves that part), then we go for a walk, nap, eat, more floor time, sometimes I'll throw in a fun photo shoot too!

  • We usually cuddle in the morning for a little bit, and we play on the floor (she sits up and lays down depending on her mood), then she goes in the exersaucer, and then it's time for a nap or bottle, then we just rotate through everything again.. Sometimes we go for a walk, or run errands, or just sit outside on a blanket and play. But in between naps and feeding, the day goes by so fast because she goes to bed at 7..

  • I sit DD on the floor with a fluffy blanket all around behind her when I want to go do something like laundry.  She plays in her exersaucer.  Today we went Mother Goose Time at our library then Daddy met us for ice cream (she even got a 'little' and LOVED it).  Right now she's sitting beside me in her highchair playing with toys.  Soon I will feed her dinner than back to floor time but hubs will be here by then so he'll play with her while I finish making our dinner.

  • DS loves trying to wiggle and rolls around on the floor after his toys.  We sit outside and watch the dogs, go on walks and playdates.  I put him in the bjorn when I want to get stuff done.  We just got a rocking horse that he loves to ride (I hold him)  In the morning I sing songs to him and play together.  Oh, and if its nice we fill up the kiddy pool.
  • In the morning we cuddle, read a book, play in mommy's bed, etc. After her morning nap I try to get out of the house for an hour or two. We go to the store, the library, meet a friend for lunch, etc. Then when we get home she goes down for her afternoon nap. She gets up around 4 and then she plays in her exersaucer, jump n go or on the floor until dinnertime at 6. Then it's dinner, bath, bottle, book and in bed by 7:30/8 PM.

  • She plays on a blanket on the floor much of the day. If she's not sitting up playing, then she's on her tummy playing. She also does some time in her exersaucer and jumperoo. But I mostly try to keep her doing floor time because that is best for their development. We play Fill-A-Bowl-With-Toys-And-Dump-Them-Out, sing songs, and read books.
