Health Insurance appeal ?

I accidentally elected the wrong plan during our open enrollment and just noticed when I got my cards in the mail.  I have to write an appeal to see if they will let me re-elect.  Has anyone experienced this through their employer?  Were you able to re-elect?  I accidentally opted for the HSA, high deductible plan that our company just started this year.  It is just not a good option for us right now, especially since I went part time.  And we want to start TTC #2 in a few months and with this new plan the L&D costs would be $6,000 versus the $250 for the plan that I used to have (and thought I was signing up for)...

    Oh shucks, good luck with that.  Since you haven't USED the insurance yet (I'm guessing since you just got the cards) they may let you.  Be very proactive on it.  Make calls as often as nes.

    When was your open enrollment and when did the new insurance kick in?  Some insurances will allow you to make the change as long as it is within 30 days.
