    Well, honestly I can't blame the inmates.... but I was talking to mom about this earlier, and said "I wish I'd been able to be there and just buy that child.. and take it straight to CPS" but then mom pointed out I might be charged with abetting a crime...??? Whatever. I just hope that baby girl gets adopted into a nice, loving family, and never learns that her birth parents tried to sell her for $25.

    I get the author's reasoning but it isn't sound.  The baby will enter the foster system and could be adopted out of it.  Especially since she's so young.  I have a lot of friends who used the foster care system to provide foster care and ultimately adopted the children they have.

    I think the father got his just deserts! Perhaps the mother should get a good beat down too.  

    All that heartache for $25.  You know that was the amount the were probably short for the next high...Sad

    My husband and I turned my big brother in for child neglect.  We took custody of our nephews for almost 3 years while they cleaned themselves up.  The boys were 2 1/2 and 6 when they moved in with us.

    My husband and I actually went to school with a guy that was "sold". He knows his real mom and all, and she still lives around here.  It's the craziest thing. She was a drug head too, and she sold him to a couple that couldn't get pregnant. I hope things work out for this baby like it did for our friend. He ended up in a beautiful family... no matter how terribly disgusting the circumstances.

    Wow, that is very admirable of you.  I can't even imagine the predicament you were in.
