I have a dresser with 6 drawers and put the changing pad and all the toiletries on top (baby wash, lotiIon, diaper rash cream, etc). What doesn't fit inside the dresser drawers has to be stored under the crib in bins/containers/baskets due to lack of space in the room.
I have two of these koala baby canvas bins (11.5"L x 10.5"W x 9"D), and one bigger one (15.5"L x 13"W x 11.5"D).
I also have a longer, rectangle shaped lined basket and a big round basket with handles on it (probably best for toys?).
I usually LOVE organizing things, but for some reason I'm drawing a blank here. I don't know what to put in the dresser vs. under the crib and which items to put together, how to sort them, etc.
I have tons of gdiaper disposable refills (like 9-10 cases), plus 2 cases of regular disposable pampers and I have a big case of wipes and 2 normal size boxes of wipes. And then, of course, all the crib bedding, swaddle blankets, changing pad covers, boppy covers, bibs, burp cloths, washcloths, hooded towels. Right now I'm only using one dresser drawer for all the clothes, socks, hats, and sleepers! The rest are full of diapers, etc.
Need some recommendations! Please HELP!
Re: How are you all organizing your nursery?
I put blankets together in a drawer and swaddlers with recieving blankets in another drawer.
I have extra crib sheets with the extra changing pad covers/boppy covers. Then I'd put the bibs and burp cloths together and the washcloths and hooded towels together.
You can put the diapers and the disposable refills together. And the wipes could be with the extra creams/oitments. I think these would work the best under the dresser or tucked away if you have enough to last a little while on top of the changing table.
Just an idea from looking at your list.
The best recommendation I can give you is to put all the material items (towels, sheets, etc.) in drawers. The boxes of daipers can be stored under the crib without going into another container maybe?
Anything that you put under the crib that does not have a sealed cover over it will get dusty. That is why I do not recommend any material that the baby will touch because you will have to wash it again.
HTH!!
definately put all your extra diapers in a closet. All you need is about 20 at a time (maybe in a baset) and the rest can be stored.
I have her onesies, shirts, pants, sleepers all in a couple dresser drawers. Socks, hats, nursing cover, towels and wash cloths, etc in another drawer.
In the closet I have all her dresses and sets hanging up, then have wire cubes in the closet which I stacked and have blankets, sheets, and whatever else in there.
I'm not sure what's "correct", but here's what I did:
We have a tall dresser with 5 drawers. In the top drawer, I have her socks, caps, mittens, and hair accessories separated with small baskets. In the second, third, fourth, and fifth drawers I have onesies, shirts, pajamas, and bottoms - one size per drawer: newborn, 0-3, 3-6, and 6-9.
Hanging up in the closet are dresses and outfits and "nicer" shirts and rompers separated by size with closet dividers. On the small shelving system in the closet are my nursing covers, post partum supplies, regular baby blankets, burp cloths, and baby's shoes. Extra diapers and wipes are in the closet on the floor.
On the shelves of the changing table I have receiving blankets and bibs in baskets. I'll keep one tub of wipes there too. The boppy is also being kept there (for now). There's a diaper stacker hanging from the changing table which I have diapers in, but I won't know how functional it really is until I start using it.
I have a drawer under the crib where I keep the extra crib sheet, extra changing pad cover, extra boppy cover, and whatever else I decide to put in there.
Washcloths and towels are in a drawer in the kids' bathroom for now, but i'll probably end up hanging them on the towel rod once we start using them.
Hope this helps!
Unfortunately, there's no closet. Just the dresser and underneith the crib. I really hope we can buy a bigger house soon!
BTW, that's a good point, about the dust thing! I definately don't want to be re-washing everything!
Thanks ladies!
