Help! DS keeps scratching his face/head!

I do my best to keep his nails really short, cutting them whenever he will let me, but he still scratches his head and face regularly.  Sometimes it's really bad.  He now has two good scratches on his nose - one was healing and he got himself again today.  He really rubs his face and eyes when he's sleepy and when he's waking up, so I think that's when he does it. 

Does anyone else's DC do this?  Or am I doing something wrong?

    DS scratches his face too. He does rub his face a lot, we just keep his nails short and put mittens on him.

    mine does....he has a big gash on his cheeck now..He gets a new one evry day.  I just do the best I can in cutting them.  Cant do much else since he hates those mitts.

    My DS does this as well.  He rubs his face when he is hungry and when he is sleepy...so basically all of the time it seems!  He gets tons of tiny little scratches, and I feel so bad for him.  I am not very good at cutting his nails, and I make him bleed almost everytime..so I hate doing it.  Plus he won't wear the mittens because he likes his hands/fingers free.  I sure hope he grows out of this sometime soon!

    I am in the same boat.  It seems like he has a new scratch EVERY day!  Keep the nails short seems like the best we can do...I am thinking next time I will cut them then follow up filing them down even more since you can get too close w/o making him bleed.

    Ok I am a total nail-sissy and still have my mom cut DS's nails but if I notice that they are short but he is scratching himself I will buff them with a regular nail buffer. It helps.
