Plato's Closet ?

Has anyone ever taken clothes to Plato's Closet for cash?  I have so many clothes I dont wear and that don't fit.  Just wondered what kind of money you get for your things?

  • I never have, but a girlfriend of mine would take her clothes there all the time in college. She would take loads at a time and get a decent amt of money for them. The amt of money you get depends mostly on the brand and condition of the clothes. It doesn't hurt to try!

  • I used to.  I could get 20-30 bucks in cash, which was good for when I was in college.  I don't take them there anymore- I have aged out of it.  I was subtly told this last time I went (a few years ago- I am 30 now) as they went through my clothes in front of me and kept saying, "this is older than our demographic."  Boy did I feel frumpy after that!

    Ouch, dude!

Last year, my friend brought her stuff there, and she was given $2-$3 for each pair of jeans.  And they were nice!  So to me, that wouldn't really be worth it!

  • Yeah....I did feel kinda old there!  But they took some of my stuff and I made 17 bucks!!!  I wish we could have garage sales in my neighborhood!  Damn HOA!!
