TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

What has two thumbs and a big ole' cyst?

This girl. Sad

So instead of starting another round of Clomid, I will be taking birth control for two weeks.  I'm very upset because this means that I won't be pregnant for my due date Aug. 6.  Instead of giving birth and starting my new life as a SAHM, I will be dealing with an empty ute and the first day of school.

Apparently the cyst is a side effect of the Clomid.

I have a question about BC because I haven't been on it in so long, sorry if it's stupid.  This is going to mess my cycle up, right?  So in two weeks, when (hopefully) I get off of it and my cyst goes away, where will that put me?  Back at CD1 or so?  Will they just do an u/s and check?  Thanks for any advice.

  • I so sorry.  If it's only 2 weeks of bc, shouldn't you O when you go off of it?  I'm not sure, sorry.

  • I am so sorry honey. This really, really sucks.
  • I'm sorry :(. What a pain in the ass. I think the answer depends on what kind of birth control you're going on. But if you're taking one with estrogen and progesterone, I'd think you'd get AF soon after coming off due to progesterone withdrawal.

I'm not sure!  Best case scenario, I will only be on it for 2 weeks.  Without the Clomid, I would normally O around CD25 or so, so the BC wouldn't interfere with that, but I'm not sure what it does, we stopped using it shortly after we got married almost 6 years ago.  If I do O when I get off of it, I'm wondering if the RE will let me TTC this month and if there's any kind of other medicine they might try to help me create a better quality embryo.  I'm pretty sure it will be too late for Clomid by that time, unless the BC really messes with my cycle or something.

I'm not sure, I dropped the prescription off but haven't picked it up yet.  This would probably be ideal, though, then I could have a fresh new cycle.

  • I'm so sorry.  I think BBHME is right about it depending on the BCP they give you.  I hope it does what the doctor wants and you get back to TTC healthy and soon.

  • I don't know anything about BCP, sorry I can't help there.

I hope that you only need the 2 weeks and that the cyst is gone and you can move to trying again.  I'm sorry, it really sucks.

  • Sorry to hear this................any delay is very frustrating.  I hope the bcp do the trick and you can be on the rd to TTC asap!    Im sure they will do an u/s to verify that the bcp took care of the cyst..............It was always my assumption that the bcp kind of reset your cycle so you may not be out of the ttc game for long.
