How much vitex and when?

Hi ladies,

For those of you who take vitex, how much do you take, and when do you take it? I read to take it after AF finishes, up until a confirmed HPT. But I have no clue about how much to take (FYI I will probably be taking it in pill form).

Since March I have had two AFs, and O'd on CD 40. Granted I was really sick and stressed out, but still I tend to O around CD 25 - 30. I would love to O earlier...I have been hesitant about Vitex, but after seeing so many positive reports, I figure I have nothing to lose, especially as my cycle couldn't get any more whacked out. TIA!

800 mg is the recommended dose. I took one combo pill with 350mg vitex and 100mg B-6 in the morning, and a straight 400mg vitex in the evening with my prenatal.

Thank you! Did you notice an earlier O? Also, how long did it take for you to notice a difference? Everything I've read says it takes 3 - 6 months to kick in...

I've been taking mine in pill form. It's a pre-pregnancy herbal supplement Colinda sent me a few weeks ago. I've been taking about 500 mlg of vitex per day. I took less than the full dose and I started around CD 5 or 6 to ration it because I didn't have a full bottle. I'll up the dosage when I order my own for next cycle.

This is my first cycle using it and this is the earliest I have ever ovulated. It also gave me TONS (and I mean, like, TONS) of EWCM.

I also drink 1 cup of red raspberry leaf tea per day and have done so for the last three cycles. That has helped regulate them too (My "normal" is 34/35 days but before I started the herbal supplements in March I had a 40-45 days cycle every few months.).
