best way to label bottles for daycare?

We are starting daycare next week and need to send bottles.  What is the best way to label?  Just write with marker on the bottle itself or use masking tape?  Thanks.

Re: best way to label bottles for daycare?

  • We write her name on the bottle and lid in perm marker and then we use freezer (like masking tap) on the top for the date.
  • Having worked in daycare for a long time. I can tell you marker will just wash off and masking tape with fall off.

I recommend getting a label maker to label them. Or try these..

  • We wrote her name in Sharpie (permanent marker) on the bottle itself.  And we use a piece of that blue tape you use to tape off areas when you're painting to put the date on them.

Eh, when the marker starts to wear off we just write over it again.  And its ok for the tape to come off, it only needs to be there for one day.

  • I guess it depends on the daycare you use. We required it to be something that would no was off or fall off. But we provided labels for parents.

  • For the first 3 months, i used masking tape - we have to label first and last name and date.  I hated the masking tape because it didn't want to stick.  I sprung for the inchbug thingys with her name and am using dry erase marker on the caps with the date.
  • We got the daycare pack from namebubbles.com. They are cute and the set comes with some laundry safe and some dishwasher safe labels.

This is exactly what we do. Sharpie for her name, painters tape for the date. It's worked great for us so far (2 months today).

Yeah the painters tape doesn't fall off.  And its been hot and humid here, so the bottles sweat, and it still sticks...

  • I use a sharpie and just look at it each day.  If it is wearing off, I just write over it again.

We bought a label maker.  What a waste :(  The label falls off faster than the freezer tape.
