DH travels for work (a lot). He's had all kinds of incidents through the years while flying. Today was a near breaking point for me. His plane blew a tire flying out of Charlotte and had to make an emergency landing back in Charlotte. The tire cut a hydraulic line (very bad) and there were system failures. The pilots weren't sure they could land the plane safely and told the passengers to prepare for a crash landing. Thankfully they landed ok and no serious injuries. Last time he flew US Air, the windscreen shattered and they had to make an emergency landing as well. Does anyone know of NON TRAVEL jobs for mech/electrical engineers?! I can't take this anymore!!!!!!!!!
Re: Thankful but shaken this morning
Yikes!!! I used to travel for work 100% and had similar experiences. It truly makes you thankful for all of those uneventful, boring flights. I'm glad he is safe!
My DH flies out every week (ugh). He hasn't had any plane problems recently (knock on wood), but every flight has been significantly delayed, leading to missed connections and extra nights away. He wastes SO much of his life in flight or waiting for a flight. We're looking to get him a local gig as well, especially with a new baby.
Good l
What a scary experience that must have been! Glad he is ok.
Glad he is safe!
I work with a bunch of mechanical/electrical engineers at a patent and trademark law office....they have an awesome job!!!
