TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

"The Infertility Cure" book

The book arrived Saturday and I started it last night - 2 pages in and I was hooked.  It's about using Traditional Chinese Medicine along with Western medicine to overcome IF issues.  I'm hoping that I'm already doing some of what she recommends with the acupuncture, herbs, and wheatgrass, but I haven't gotten that far yet to see what she says.

I'll let you know how it goes, but so far it seems like a great book.  The doctor who wrote it went through IF and a loss - her story is identical to so many of ours so I think a book from that point of view should be really helpful.

  • I've seen this book.  I gave it a thought, but to be honest acupuncture ended up just being a waste of money for us.  So I don't seem to put a lot of weight in all these IF cure stuff.  Also, I have found that many of them work better for people with PCOS and we don't have that.

I hope you find what you are looking for in it, though.

  • Although I have nothing to show for it yet, I do think the acupuncture has helped me.  I know it's also something that works well in conjunction with IVF so I'll keep doing it for now.  I'm hoping it's helpful for me with some nutrition and diet info too since I know I could use some help there...although I probably could get the same info from Colinda!  At this point, I'm willing to try anything so I'll see what happens.

  • I've been thinking about buying this book. However, I wonder if it will be beneficial to me because while I have had several losses, I have gotten KU the first time trying on each pg. So TTC has never really been a major issue for me. Does the book talk about losses?? Please let me know! If you think it will be beneficial for me, then I think I will order it along with Coming To Term. Thanks!

  • I'm not sure yet how much detail she goes into about losses, but I can look tonight for you to see if there are chapters dealing with that.  The point so far (I have read only about 20 or so pages) is that your body needs to be in balance and even small imbalances in your hormones can throw everything out of whack.  So I'm guessing that some of what she'll discuss won't just be about getting pregnant, but also staying pregnant.
