We are thinking of introducing meat to our little one in the next week or so but wondering what time of day to do it and which is the most natural brand to purchase?
DS eats as follows:
7AM Nursed
10:30 AM Fed solids cereal, fruit, formula at daycare
1:30 PM Fed solids fruit, vegetable and bottle of formula at daycare
4:30 PM Bottle of formula at daycare
7PM Nursed to bed
So when do you think we should squeeze in the meat and which brand is the most natural meats?
Re: When best time to introduce meat and which most natural brand . . .
My DD doesn't like the pureed meats by themselves, so we give her the meat and veggie/fruit jarred foods. Gerber and Beechnut have pureed "meals" like chicken and sweet potatos, chicken and apples, beef and veggies, chicken noodle soup, chicken and veggies, etc. She seems to enjoy these and she gets a meat serving every day.
Here's our solids schedule:
10 AM: 4 oz of fruit w/ 1-2 tablespoons of oatmeal
2 PM: 2-4 oz of veggie
6 PM: 4 oz jar of the pureed "meal"
We just started chicken a few weeks ago, but I make my own.
He doesn't like it plain so I add some fruit or vegetables to it.
It's really easy to make it yourself just cook some plain chicken and puree it with water. I add the fruit and vegetables after as needed.
I usually feed him his chicken for dinner and after that he will have 1 more bottle before bed.
