Insurance adjusters were supposed to come by Friday before noon and at 5pm on Friday, we were told Monday for sure. "disaster clean-up crew" will be back this morning to move a bunch of our stuff, and hopefully they will have gotten negative tests on all the samples they took (testing for asbestos because of the age of our house- goodtimes) and they can start pulling down the soaking wet walls and pull up the rest of the floors in our basement.
I hate being down to 1/2 our sq. feet especially since we've had company since the flood and will have company for another week. Ugh.
Anyhow, wish us luck that everything goes smoothly today with insurance and that we will be able to get everything restored quickly so things can go back to normal - whatever normal is

Could be worse! When the folks 'finished' the basement, they put in subfloors throughout, so everything is raised a couple of inches. We had a flood when we moved in that got only one room with very little water, and had to pull up floors in one room so we noticed the water there (because the floors are lower) before anything apart from flooring/walls/insulation was drenched... could definitely be worse
