Trouble TTC

What's for dinner ladies?

I haven't started it yet, but we will be having what DH's family calls gulosh.  It is basically brown hamburger simmered in tomato sauce, chili powder, and onions mixed with cooked macaroni noodles.  Then layered with cheddar cheese before baking.  It is really good!

As of right now, it's looking like my dinner with consist of Kit Kat bars.

Put some peanut butter with it and it sounds like a meal to me!

I have no idea what we're having.  We have no food in the house.  I was thinking about grilling hamburgers, but I have no buns and I REALLY don't feel like going anywhere.

When that happens to me, I just put my burger on toasted bread.  Or go low carb and put them on lettuce!  I hope that one or the other can solve your problem!

    :(  Nope, I have neither.

I really ought to think about going grocery shopping soon!

  • Taco salad.. so easy! Shredded lettuce, ground beef cooked with taco seasoning and diced tomatoes. Throw some shredded cheese on top, and voila! DH will probably by some tortilla chips to go with his, but I am going to be good and stay away from them. :)

Ohhh, what are you painting!  I have been doing little projects around my house since summer started (I am a teacher).  My next one is to do the baseboards (not exciting).

I like to add black beans and some Catalina dressing.  I know that the dressing sounds odd, but it is soooo good.  I want to make those later this week!

We'll see if it's a good call.  DH is throwing the pork on the grill in a few, but we've never had this recipe before.  I'm anxious to see how it turns out.

They're great! I wasn't sure about them to begin with, but saw this recipe/site linked from somewhere a long time ago so gave them a shot. YUM! Both DH and I are picky and I could eat them all of the time. I like making extra and wrapping them individually to take in my lunch as well.

  • I had some butternut squash ravioli with brown butter sauce with walnuts and a little wilted spinach.  They were pretty good, until my husband looked at the ravioli package after I ate it and I realized it had over 800 calories just for the ravioli because the serving sizes were crazy small!  Whoops!!

Definitely. I wasn't sure what to expect, but they have a great sweet taste and the little bit of lemon juice makes them perfect. They tasted a lot better than I expected and I'm a bad and inexperienced chef. :)

  • Eat 'n' Park.  It's been a long day of cleaning and working and I think I am getting my period (finally) so I am sort of too blah to cook.  Eat 'n' Park is at least not too expensive and it is the place for smiles.
  • We had Mexican take out tonight.  I had an enchilada and rice.  DH had a burrito, rice and beans.

  • We had Tex Mex Beef wraps. It's a roast cut into 3-4 pieces, seasoned with cumin and chili powder, cooked with a little garlic, onion and salsa in the slow cooker.

We shred the meat and put it in wraps with a little guacamole, peppers and cheese. Yummy!
