1st Trimester
Can't stop crying..............possible loss
The last couple of days the few pg symptoms I had seemed to be going away. I got up this morning and had some light spotting, a few hours later it turned into bleeding like my period and some mild cramping. Called my OB and the on call dr said to go to the ER. ER doc did a pelvic and said my cervix is closed but he thinks I have a threatened miscarriage. Said I haven't miscarried yet but probably would. There's a SLIM chance things will be ok but because my pg symptoms are gone, I'm not holding out any hope. Has anyone else been thru this and things turned out ok?

It hasn't happened to me, but I've heard people on here who've said that they had bleeding like that and ended up not having a m/c. It's rare, but I hope that's what happens for you.

I am so sorry. I have been bleeding and cramping the past week. I went to my doc Friday and had an u/s, and baby is still there and growing. How much are you bleeding? Can you go in to your OBGYN tomorrow for an u/s?
Hang in there. Not knowing is such a terrible feeling. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Hey guys, just got up from a nap. I'm still cramping and bleeding and there's stringy stuff in the toilet? I still have clots too. I called my dr's nurse before I took a nap and left her a message and I'll call them first thing in the morning. They didn't do an ultrasound at the ER or blood. I'm also at 4.5 weeks or so. I have a small hope that things turn out ok and I get to stay here with you guys but I'm pretty sure I'll be back at the TTTC board soon:(

I've been through it both ways. With DD #2 I had bleeding around 12 weeks and I had to go to the ER. It was diagnosed as a threatened misscarriage but she ended up fine and we never found a reason for the bleeding. I've always thought it may have been related to my still BFing DD #1.
WIth my m/c I became concerned when my pregnancy symptoms started to dissapear and the lines on the pregnancy tests remained faint and never got stronger. When I began getting bad cramping (worse than period closer to early labor) and spotting I knew it was over.

Brandy I am so sorry you are going through this.
I went through a similar situation a few weeks ago (right around 5 1/2 weeks). I started bleeding very heavily at work and called my OB's nurse and she told me to go to the ER for a possible miscarriage.
My ER was very thorough -- pelvic exam, ultrasound, blood work etc. They diagnosed me with a "threatened abortion". I also had to go back for more beta testing two days later to make sure my levels were increasing. My cervix was still closed and a baby could not be seen on an ultrasound (only the gestational sac) at that point. I went back in for the beta testing two days later like they said and my levels were raising but not as high as they should have been. I had spotting for 10 days after the initial bleeding and have been in and out of my OB's office 2-3 times since then. At my last ultrasound (this past Friday) the baby was progressing but was about a week behind based on my LMP. However, the heartbeat was very strong and stable. The baby has also showed growth from the two ultrasounds I had at my OB office.
There is still hope. My doctor told me as long as I was doing okay and the baby was fine that the bleeding shouldn't cause any alarm. I hope you get some good news! It has definitely been a journey for me. If you need to PM me you can!
Well it's over, saw my OB this morning, I definitely miscarried. I wanted to thank all of you for being so supportive. They did an ultrasound, pelvic and drew blood. My OB says that since it happened so early, he thinks it was simply a matter of the baby not developing right. I am hypothyroid and I was worried about that but he said that shouldn't be the problem since I just got my levels checked about a month ago and they were fine. He said it looks like my body was doing everything it was supposed to in order to support the pregnancy so the good news is we can take a break and then start trying again. I've been crying most of the day and DH has just been awesome. We are just going to focus on each other and get thru this. I wanted to thank everyone here and hopefully in a few months I'll be back
