Babies: 6 - 9 Months

so we used the floppy seat today and DD rode in the shopping cart....

and all was well until P grabbed for the pie crust shell that i was putting in the cart.....she cut her little finger on it.

Crying....this is me crying not her.  she didn't even know she hurt herself, even though her little finger was bleeding.

but she did really well sitting up and screeching hello at everyone that would look in her direction.....

  • poor thing!

Today DS tried to dive out of the cart for something on the shelf! He is NOT fun to shop with even though he's a big flirt when someone looks at him.

  • Awww, poor thing!!!

DS rode in the shopping cart for the first time last weekend...it was definitely one of those "holy crap, he's getting so big!!" moments! Time is going by far too quickly!

  • I just had DS in the cart for the first time last week too! I just couldn't believe how big he's getting. We were at Target, and the regular shopping carts they have were fine. But the second time, we were at CVS and they have these mini carts, and the seat seemed very shallow and he was leaning over and I was worried he was going to fall out (even though he was buckled in)!

  • Not to butt in on your post, but I am having a problem similar to your discussion!

My MIL bought me something to go in the cart for Stella to sit in, but it didn't have anything to protect the front where the bars of the shopping cart are.  We have went out and used it about 2-3 times, but I tried it at Walmart yesterday and she got really excited and went to lean forward and hit her little chin on the metal bar and started screaming (even though I had put a blanket over it).  So, we had to unstrap and get out and calm down for a bit.

Anyone want to recommend a different shopping cart cover please?!?

and it covers everything.  it just has a waist strap so LO has to be able to really sit well on their own.  i have seen some that come with shoulder straps, not sure who makes it.

I have the Eddie Bauer shopping cart cover and it has the shoulder straps too... I like it for right now because she still wobbles a little and doesn't sit for extended periods of time (like some of my shopping trips) and the shoulder straps help. I think I'd prefer one without shoulder straps through when she's a few months older because they're pretty confining.

  • awww poor little bug! i hope she's alright.

pictures of her in the cart??

  • we just ordered this one from amazon...https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3811872

still waiting for it to arrive but have heard good things about it:-)

  • I'm sorry she cut herself!

Ryan LOVES being able to sit in the shopping cart now. He likes to "help" so usually I'll give him a box of rice or something to hold. He likes rice because it makes noise when he shakes it!
