So I think there's something in my toilet. And I mean something that shouldn't be there. It all started when my dog dropped his ball and it rolled into our master bath (toilet room) next to the shower. I told him to go and get it and he kept looking at me, the ball then the toilet. He finally started walking up to the ball and did the sudden flinch that they do while loo king at the toilet and barked like crazy before whining and running out. Now he's just laying in front of the main bathroom door staring at he toilet.
I'm too afraid to look and I'm home by myself until midnight because DH is at work. To be honest the only thing that keeps running through my head is this episode of some show I watched where there was a snake in the toilet. It had crawled into the piping or something.
I called DH and he insisted I look but I just can't. So now I can't use our bathroom nor can I use our great jetted tub tonight to relieve some aches. I'm such a wuss but there's no way I can look into that toilet.
Re: NBR: Too scared to look
Now we're all wondering what's in there!
YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO US!!!!
Go look and report back! ;-)
Dogs do know best. There must be something unusual going on!
Go look! We all want to know!

Are there a lot of snakes in Kansas? That might be a really dumb question, but it seems to me that there wouldn't be.
I think you should take a peek, just crack the door and look in so you know what you're dealing with.
I seriously can't do it. I made it as far as turning the light on (still can't see in the toilet from the switch) and then got the willies and freaked out. My dog finally got his ball though. He's a german shephard so he can see pretty easily into the toilet. He walked towards the ball while not taking his eyes off the toilet, grabbed the ball and backed out. Again not taking his eyes off the toilet. I'm seriously too freaked out to try and get closer.
We don't have a ton of snakes but we do have our fair share. I think there's something definitely in there but I just keep flashing back to that tv show with the snake being found in the toilet. So it could be something else? OMG but what else could it be? LOL! Maybe I'll see if one of my neighbors will come with me.
A chance, I meant.
Go get a broom or mop and lift the lid and check!!

If he can see into the toilet, that means the lid is up and whatever it is hasn't tried to escape yet so is unlikely to do so while you look.
Could you use a mirror or a camera to catch a glimpse of your 'guest'?
I'm going to laugh if it turns out to be a large beetle or something.
Update!
DH came home real fast (he's a county deputy so he was out driving around) and gave me one of those "I can't believe you can't do this" kind of looks before tip-toeing to the toilet. Yeah big man was a little scared himself.
It turns out there was nothing in the toilet. Not even water. It was completely weird. DH is wondering if the plumbing some how lost pressure and all the water was draining and that some how that dog was scared by the moving water.
So I feel partly stupid, but mostly relieved. I'm still not 100% convinced there wasn't something there but at least I know its not there now. Nor is it any where else in the bathroom since I had DH check every plumbing piece in the room. And other bathrooms.
Now I can have a nice long pee since I've been to afraid to turn my backside to any of the toilets since the plumbing is all connected. You wait though - tonight I'll be posting about how stupid snake dreams are keeping me up. *sigh*
