What Play Kitchen is the best?

Re: What Play Kitchen is the best?

  • We got our DD the Little Tykes Super Chef Kitchen and she really enjoys playing with it. It is a reasonable price and has a lot for her to play with. It is also great for putting in a corner and not taking up much space.

  • DS also has the Little Tikes Super Chef kitchen.  He plays with it almost every day.  We got a great deal on it, and I like that it fits into a corner.

It doesn't come with any food though, so I would really recommend getting some of the Learning Resource play food baskets...check Amazon for better prices.

  • If you're near an IKEA they have a great wooden play kitchen.  It's affordable and they have tons of cute accessories to go with it.
  • We got DD1 a Step 2 kitchen for Christmas. She loves it! I think it's the Partytime Lifestyle model. Or Lifestyle Partytime? One of those. It comes with a pot, pan, some cooking utensils, dishes, etc.

She likes all the sounds it makes.

  • not sure what your price range is but we got DS the play kitchen from the land of nod for his birthday.  Its a nice sturdy wooden kitchen made of white wood.  We also got him the refrigerator to go with it.  It is a bit pricey but we got all the family memebers to go in on the kitchen, fridge and melissa and doug wooden playfood.  He loves all of the stuff and we keep it in the corner of the dining room so that he can cook when i cook.  Its so nice looking, you dont even notice its in there!
  • I got here this bundle pack site to store for Christmas https://www.walmart.com/ip/Step2-LifeStyle-Custom-Kitchen-and-Play-Food-Set-Value-Bundle/12017589

Walmart sells just the kitchen for $65. I have found that Walmart has the cheapest prices and with site to store it is free shipping. They have many other kitchens depending on your price range. I wanted to stay around or under $100 when I bought.

  • DD got the Kidkraft Large kitchen from amazon for her birthday. It did not come with any accessories but its an awesome kitchen. DD and DS play with it everyday.
  • In my playgroup, pretty much any kitchen set is a hit but the wooden ones like from KidKraft seem to be better made, more sturdy and easier for the kids to play with in that they're a little longer so more kids can saddle up next to them more easily. The cabinets they can open aren't all on top of each other (which leads to pinched fingers for other babies or possesive fights) and that's always a plus. I also love the fridge that comes with some- makes storing all that food much easier! I refuse to get a set of plastic food b/c it makes a HUGE mess everywhere. Instead, MIL and I are knitting fruits and veggies which are cute and limits quantity. Its easy enough to find seperate tea sets and plates etc.
