Monistat during pregnancy

Anyone knows if it's safe to use Monistat during pregnancy?

I called my Dr. this morning and he gave me the name of something I could use (he said for "yeast") and I can't find it, I thought he said Misolex, but the pharmasist never heard of it... I need heeeelp! this itching is killing me!

  • When I had a yeast infection a couple months ago they said to use Monistat. I just got the generic brand with the same active ingredient as Monistat.

  • Yes it's safe. I just used it to get rid of my yeast infection. RELIEF! Be sure to use the 7-day cream... not the 3-day stuff.

ditto this. 7 day not 3 day
  • I was on antibiotics for the past week (tooth infection) which caused a yeast infection.  I was diagnosed on Thursday, and my doctor actually told me to use the 3 or 7 day Monistat.  Tonight will be my 3rd day and it seems to be working.  I got the combo pack which also comes with a cream to help with the itching.  My doctor also gave me a prescription for a cream in case I needed it, so far I'm ok. Oh, and I'm using the CVS brand which has the same ingredients and dose.

I have to say it is extremely uncomfortable to get the inserts in.  I never even use tampons - and now that I can't even see what I'm doing - it's interesting!  Good luck, I hope you get some relief.
