Taking away pacifier

Last night we decided it was time to take the pacifier away from DD before it was too late! This is about the time we did it with DD #. She is almost 15 months old. We snipped a little bit of the end off. She looked at it to try to figure what was wrong then through it on the floor! Then she found another and did the same thing. She cried for about 20 minutes before faling asleep. I have her in now and she should be napping but she is crying. She has been in for about 20 minutes. How long is too long to let her cry? DD #1 was much easier.

    Maybe I am just a mean mom but I think she is old enough to cry it out.  If you truly want her to give it up then let her cry it out.  Trust me, there is nothing worse than hearing your child cry but at times we have to do it.
