We gave him one for the first time when he was 4 days old. I am EBF until I go back to school in Aug. (then I will pump and BF) and it hasn't made any difference at all!

We have been giving her one since we came home from the hospital. We don't offer it to her all the time, but it has come in very handy when we are at the doctors office, or when she needs to settle herself in the car seat or prior to going to sleep after a full feeding at night during one of her fussier times. I am BF now, and it doesn't seem to have made a difference.
DS was in special care for a few days after birth; they recommend pacis if the baby is getting IV's or something sort of painful to sooth so we were OK with it (he needed IV fluids and a preventative antibiotic)- it has made no difference with him and BF and he either wants it or doesn't (he's not always in need). I like the MAM brand ones- they are smaller and more like a real nipple.

DS got it at 2 days old in the hospital when he was under the bili-light and would not stop screaming, poor guy did not like being blinded naked. Im EBF and he still gets it and it hasnt been an issue. 1ht
