My grandmother's 80th birthday party is this Sunday, and I needed a nice dress to wear.
I figured I'd be brave, and take Quentin with me on this adventure.
We get to the store, I find a few I want to try on, and we head for the dressing rooms. Once in the dressing room, I take him out of the cart and let him roam around the tiny room. I take my pants off, and the moment I have my shirt over my head, he makes a disappearing act UNDER the door of the dressing room, and darts out!
I don't think I ever got dressed that fast in my life! I could hear him out there laughing and saying "Hide mommy! HIDE!!"
Thankfully, he was 'hiding' in the corner of the dressing room hallway, and all the other ladies found it amusing and were laughing at the situation.
That boy about gave me a heart attack! lol
Re: A toddler + clothes shopping = panic
Yikes! These toddlers are quick. I feel so old trying to keep up with my little guy. He has like triple the energy I have!
It scares the crap out of you! I had a vision of some big, scary kidnapper waiting outside the dressing room area. I was glad he was laughing and talking while I frantically got dressed so I knew he was okay!
Yes-- I found a very cute dress. We had to go to two different stores, but I did find something pretty. I'll be sure to post a pic of it on Facebook after the party on Sunday. : )
Yikes! I'd flip, too. So far DS has been great if I plop him on the seat or bench, block the door, and hand him a cookie or coloring book while I speedily try my stuff on.

If I ever try this again, I will definitely have to block the door somehow. I still can't believe he was able to slither his whole body out of that small bottom opening. He never ceases to amaze me!
Similar story except it was at the mall - DS figured out how to throw the latch on the door and threw it wide open and ran out, while I was mid stream. I think I gave the 2 teenage girls in the restroom with us a very good lesson in birth control.
These stories are hilarious.
I was at a dressing room, with DS in my peripheral so I could still see he was IN the room with me, but I wasn't watching him too closely. We were at Kohl's, which has the bottom open on all sides.
I hear "Excuse me!" and I look up to see him peeking under the dressing room at whoever was in the one next to us! I was so embarrassed but trying so hard not to laugh because my toddler is a peeping tom, but an innocent one.
Oh, wow...HA!! That would make your swim class...uh...interesting. Nothing like seeing some guy from the swim class looking back at you while your nude in the dressing room. AWKWARD!
