Hi everyone! Just got my BFP earlier this week and am very excited. We just moved to Seattle (less than 2 weeks ago) so I am new to everything around here (we moved from DC). Any recommendations on doctors or hospitals? I need to call for my first appointment but am looking for some guidance. I've heard good things about the Northwest Women's Health Center and see they deliver at Swedish First Hill - any experiences to share?
Thanks for any and all help!
Re: BFP and new to Seattle
Congrats on the BFP and welcome to Seattle. This group of ladies is fun and helpful so I hope you stop in lots. I have no advice on Dr's. I see the midwives at Evergreen in Kirkland so a bit far for you.
Congrats on your BFP and welcome to Seattle!
I am a patient at Seattle OBGYN Group, which delivers at Swedish First Hill, and I love them. I was willing to drive from Tacoma just to go to them. My OB is Dr. Cari Martin, but I was delivered by Dr. Anna Daniel. They are all great doctors -- and women -- and the nurses are so, so nice, too. I was very happy with my delivery at Swedish and will be going there for my second child.
Congrats and welcome!!
I went to the Women's Health Care Center at UW Med Center. It's on 42nd and Roosevelt, so it would be super convenient for you from both home and work. My OB was Dr. Rebecca Dunsmoor-Su, and I delivered at the UW hospital.
My husband and I both loved absolutely everything about the place (both the Roosevelt Clinic and the hospital) and the people. It was such a great experience and I will definitely be going back when we get pregnant with #2!

I'd look at Swedish Ballard if I were in your area. I've got a friend who will be delivering her 2nd baby there in a few months. She loved it there with her 1st.
I live down in S. Seattle so too far of a drive for me. Highline in Burien is where I'm going... also the bomb, but maybe a far drive for you. Good luck and welcome to Seattle!
Hi, congratulations and welcome!
I'm seeing the midwives at the UW Medical Center and have been really happy with my experience so far. I've met 4 of them now (there are 6 on the team; you meet them all periodically so that whoever is present at your birth knows you), and they are all very professional, but still warm, wise, and have a good balance between crunchy granola and Western medicine.
Hi-
I moved to Seatle from the DC area in April, when I was 4 weeks pregnant. I am now 17 weeks (with twins!). I found a great OB - Dr. Susan Harvey at Seattle OB/GYN. I also work in South Lake Union and her office is literally 5 minutes from my work. I will deliver at Swedish/First Hill which has an excellent reputation and a level 3 NICU (just in case).
Good luck on getting settled!!!
