Babies: 6 - 9 Months

8 monther eating less?

Lately instead of taking 5 six-ounce bottles a day, Fay wants maybe three. She will take solids whenever I offer them (about three times a day, not including Cheerios, which she adores). Is that normal? Is it a sign that she wants to drop a feeding? On that note, I'm lost re: what her eating should look like now. It changes so much! Insight appreciated!

Re: 8 monther eating less?

  • We are at 6 months and our pedi said she will drink less and less milk because she is getting the nourishment from solids.  So, I assume this is what you are going though.  We just started solids a few days ago, so we have not seen any changes yet.

  • Yes! I've noticed in the last couple weeks that DD has been BF much less. Like you said, she'll eat solids whenever I offer them, but could care less about BFing (except at night). I don't have any advice, but wanted to say you're not alone! Oh, and we're just going three meals a day with solids/purees. With her pur?e, I usually do little pieces of fruit, bread, cheese or whatever else we're eating. Cheese is her new favorite thing. :)
