Reviews on bumGenius 3.0
We are starting to CD and I had made a list of what I believe are called covers that we wanted to try. Then I saw on cottonbabies.com that they are having a sale, buy 5 get one free of the bumGenius 3.0
Since I have never tried any CDs should I go ahead with the plan to get a few different covers to see what works best or should I go with bumGenius sale (bumGenius was already on my list of covers to try)?

If you're unsure of what you want I would still hold off. Even if the BG 3.0 are cheap, it would still be wasting money if they end up being not what you want.
Also, the BG 3.0 are more than just covers. They're pocket diapers which are a one-change sort of deal. With covers, you have a prefold, fitted or contour diaper and then use the cover to waterproof/protect them. When the baby pees or poos, you just change the inner diaper and re-use the cover (unless it's soiled).
With the pocket diapers, you have the inserts INSIDE the inner lining and the waterproof outer lining. Since the inner lining and outer cover are one piece, when they pee or poo you need to change the whole thing. If you're looking for just covers, you can get good ones for cheaper even than the on-sale BGs.

BG 3.0s are being discontinued. Their replacement is to be announced on the 29th so if you want to get some now, definitely take advantage of the sale. They are a very popular style and no one knows what they will be replaced with. I would not buy your whole stash of them though in case you don't like them or they don't work for LO...JMO.
They are not however covers. They are a pocket diaper which utilizes a microfiber insert. A cover goes a prefold or fitted.

I like to have a mix of diapers, because I go through phases of what I like.
That said, BG 3.0 is a very good diaper to have IMO.
It's a little bulky on the smaller settings for LOs. But just consider the fluffy bum adorable
They are one size pockets, so they include the insert.
