tell me about your job and then tell me about your dream job

i've been on leave since september 1st. i return on july 6th. i'm an investigator for cps. i am trying to find the words to describe my job but am coming up empty. basically it leaves me mentally drained on a weekly basis for one reason or another.

my dream job is to own a pancake house in the florida keys. dh makes a mean banana pancake and i have no qualms with going back to waitressing/hostessing.

how about you??

Re: tell me about your job and then tell me about your dream job

  • I want pancakes now.

Well, I was laid off (voluntarily) when I was 3 months pg. I had a job most women here probably have never done - I worked at an alloy plant. We manufactured different metals for planes and other things. Actually, there's a very good chance (I think like 90%) that whenever you see a plane in the sky it probably has a part made from the metal we made!

I have always wanted to be a meteorologist, but I can't say it would be my "dream job". I do think it would be fun to own a flower or bake shop. I wouldn't mind being surrounded by fresh flowers or yummy foods all day!

  • I work for Best Buy.  I've been here four years this July.  I've sold Appliances, Cell Phones, Home Theater, answered the phones and worked at Customer Service.  The benefits suck, the pay is on the sucky side of average, and the uniform is the ugliest thing this side of a fast food restaurant.  But they are super understanding of my scheduling limitations, and in exchange for being a valuable employee they overlook my refusal to tuck in my shirt and my perpeual tardiness.

My dream job would be to work in publishing.  I would love to work wih authors and help decide what gets published and what doesn't.

  • I'm a SAHM, but I'd love to be able making money working from home doing what I did before I was laid off, Human Resources/Benefits.  If I could figure out a way to make money at it, I'd love to start a business that helped people understand their health insurance but also research their doctor's bills to make sure they aren't paying too much.  My parents had received a bill from their doctor for $700 that was stamped "Due Immediately".  My dad almost put a check in the mail when I told him I'd call on his behalf to find out what was paid from the insurance company (it didn't show on the bill).  Turned out he only owed $40.  Like the doctor's office would pay him back!!!

  • I currently am a SAHM. ?I was a nanny and before that I worked in Human resources.

My dream job is to be a go go dancer. ?Not the kind that men slip dollars bills into my thong or anything. ?The kind that you go to fancy clubs and they are way up high in a bird cage or something. ?I have been a dancer all my life and I loved going to clubs all dressed up and dancing by myself like no one is watching me. ?I miss that. I miss dancing.?

  • Right here and right now, I am perfectly content as a SAHM.

I loved teached and would like to go back when our child(ren?) is in school. It's a tough field to break back into, so we'll see what happens.

  • I'm a SAHM. My circumstances are kinda special because I was a student until recently, so I had a job that was *kinda* in my field, but it was definitely entry level. When I go back I'll hopefully have something better.

I worked at a community centre. I ran programs for kids on weekends and during breaks from school, and during the week I worked at the front desk and signed people up for different lessons and programs.

My dream job is to be a psychologist for the school board. I would go around to different schools working with children who are having problems, and I'd have summers and all holidays off to spend with my DS. My other dream job is career counselor. I love helping people figure out what they're suited for and what they want to do.
