Bachelor break up

I just got done reading the People article about Jake and Viennas break up and I don't know what to think or who to believe. We'll probably never know the truth because they both have totally different stories of why they broke up.

Is it me or does it seem like the Bachelor has very few sucess stories? I'm not surprised though. These people go on extravagant dates and it's so not real life dating so it's no surprise that the couples rarely get married. Such a disapointment!

What do you ladies think?

I've never watched the series. But I always thought it was so sad that these people are so desperate that they will date the same man/woman that 10 other people are dating. Even in the end when it's just two of you...your "(wo)man" is spending quality time on dates with another person. You're okay with that? Not me!! Doesn't surprise me that it pretty much never works out. I think Tristin was the only success story of all the shows.

I've watched the series on and off over the years and cannot imagine being that dating situation. You have to fight for attention, super over the top dates, and you have to watch this person kiss everyone else too. Not my cup of tea....and I think there has only been one success story and now they have 2 kids or something.

As for Jake and Vienna....she's a whack-a-doo...not sure who's side I am believing yet...but wasn't shocked to hear the news.

Most don't work out, but it's like I can't stop myself from watching it. It's someone else's train wreck for two hours. I don't see Jillian and Ed ever getting married either.

ETA: It's hard to throw a couple into a 6-8 week frenzy of spectacular dates, far away places, and totally non-real dating situations and think that once they start a "normal" life together, things will turn out.

I haven't read the article but I never thought they would last. I think that the people on that show don't get to experience "real-life" with the person they are dating. I am sure reality hits them after the hoopla of the show and they realize maybe they are not "meant to be".

I hate to admit it but I love that show and all the drama.

Yea, there is no way I could be in a situation where you're "dating" someone with him dating a ton of other women! It's hard to believe all the women on the Bachelor are that desperate. I really think they just want to be on a tv show and gain some sort of fame.

I do love the drama though. Some of the guys and girls on the show are total nut jobs!!

Are you watching the Bachelorette? There are times I like have to turn away, it actually embarrasses me, ha! I should've counted how many times Kasey said "guard and protect your/my heart"

I haven't been watching it every week. It is really annoying to me. And yes that was driving me nuts everytime that was said! Some of the guys are so so weird!!

I'm glad to know I wasn't alone with my view on Kasey. I counted and recorded it. Kasey said "guard and protect your/my heart" 7000129293848203574835729342789 times. AHHH Super Angry

Not surprised. The show seems so contrived, and like you said, all the extravagance on the show is free! It's not representative of real life at all! It's like meeting a guy on "vacation mode" (either for you, him, or both), when everything is starry and spectacular, and then going back to real life, and realizing that unfortunately, everything has been romanticized all along. I find it hard to believe that the participants of the show don't realize this as well, in one way or another. I do hope the best for them, but maybe it's just the cynical side of me coming out!
