Update from yesterday: (re: doppler at 10.5 weeks)

So at my appointment yesterday they did try to find baby's heartbeat with the doppler. Dr couldn't find it so I got an ultrasound. Baby measured 2 days behind and I practically started hyperventilating until she did a 2nd measurement and baby was on track. That was my first freakout during this pregnancy. lol. I think it's because DS always measured ahead so I assumed this baby would too. Baby did had a nice fast heartrate of 180BPM. Smile

Also, random question: did anyone notice that the dr's office way of dating pregnancy with that little circle chart is way off? They were trying to tell me yesterday that I would be 11w1d with an EDD of 1/15 when yesterday would have only been 10w5d. Needless to say, when I had that 11w1d in my head and baby only measured 10w3d the first time she measured, I got all nervous.

    I know how scary that was for you.  That happened to me on Monday.  I was 10 weeks on the dot and they could not find the heartbeat on the doppler so they went to the u/s and found it right away.  I was relieved none the less. 

    My dr. says that the circular wheels they use to date pregnancy are not always correct...it wasn't for me either.  But it said I was less pregnant than I actually was, probably because I ovulated earlier than they are predicting.  I'm so glad everything turned out fine for you.

    That pregnancy wheel sucks.  Apparently it's either just all kinds of wrong, or they don't know how to use it.  At my appointment, I thought I was either 9w3d (by LMP) or 9w1d (according to FF).  The nurse asked for my LMP, and told me I was 8 weeks.  Um, no.  The doctor came in with the transvag u/s and measured me at 9w4d.  The nurse looked all embarrassed and said she "must have counted wrong."  Ya think?
