I know this may sound stupid, but I am really thinking about asking my OB about scheduling an induction when I go in for my weekly appt tomorrow. I am just sosososo tired of being pregnant and I am in pain 24/7. I think my LO loves to lay on whatever nerve there is in my pelvic that makes it hurt to move. lol....she will probably look at me like I am insane tomorrow! Well it won't hurt to ask though :-)

if there's no medical reason i would think the doctor would agree... it can be more painful then natural labor (so i've heard) b/c of the pitocin and if your body's not ready can lead to c-section. also from what i've heard the pitocin can potentially affect baby's heart....
although, i'm sure in another 2.5 weeks i will be wodnering the same thing....

It's something worth talking to your dr about...if you go in with well thought out reasons and convey that you've done your research and feel that you are prepared he/she may say yes who knows? The worst you can hear is "no".
We'll be talking induction around 38 weeks due to my size versus LO's size. I have started to progress so hopefully it won't be a problem!

While I do agree with the "wait until the baby is ready" camp...I'm more for the "just suck it up" camp. Trust me, I know how you feel. My pelvic area has been hurting for 3 months, I have had carpal tunnel (numb hands, pain in my fingers and joints) since I was 18 weeks, back pain, swollen fingers and feet/ankles, severe gag reflex, dizziness, and I'm still working full time with a long commute. Life sucks right now, but I know keeping baby in is the best for the baby.
If you can't deal with a couple more weeks, at most, of feeling this way then how are you going to deal with the next 18 years?? Sorry to be so blunt but I just don't get the whole "I'm miserable" reason to induce - any time I think about wanting to be done with it, I think about the women who can't get pregnant and would feel like sh!t for twice as long as I have just to be in my position of actually having a baby.

Suck it up.
100% this.
You're really better off waiting it out. My OB told me yesterday that with inductions, you run the risk of baby not progressing and you ending up needing a c-section. He told me this, because I had concerns about being induced next week at 41 weeks. He said that because I am 100% effaced and 3cm, I should have no problems.
Yep. My OB wouldn't schedule an induction until my 41 week appointment, and even then the induction was scheduled for a week later.

You can ask them, but it may be worth it to try and hang in there. If this is your first labor and delivery you may not know if your body will respond to pitocin or not. So it could be a lot of fuss and then you'd be sent home anyway (or c-sectioned).
Just think - every day is one day closer. And try to enjoy the sleep while you can!
