A Late CW/Vent

My BFF planned my shower for this Sunday at 37 weeks. I am exhausted physically and emotionally and at this point the stubborn little girl side of me just doesn't want to go. My overly hormonal self is just feeling a bit PO'd. At this point almost all of my relatives have at one point or another tried to back out of going. Some have ultimately said that they can, others "can't."  I've been trying to stay positive about it and give people the benefit of the doubt but just now I got a call that pushed meoverthe edge. My 16 year old niece has decided that she would rather spend time with her friends this weekend than come to my shower. Seriously?? I have loved her and taken care of her from the time she was born. In some ways we are more like sisters than aunt/niece. It's just unbelievable to me. Ugh. I hate feeling like my shower is just putting a bunch of people out. I'm not forcing people to come. :( I thought this was supposed to be a happy event and now it just kind of sucks.

Ok, vent over, time to move on I guess. I'll just be happy to celebrate with the few who do show up.
