Re: **Weekly Lovenox Ladies Check-in**

  • I've gained 39 lbs. so far. I'm at 36 weeks this week and will be induced in less than two weeks. I'd LOVE to keep it under 40 lbs. With my first, I gained around 55 lbs., and with my second I gained around 50 lbs.

So this is much, much better than the other two times!  I will say that with both other pregnancies, a lot of weight came off after delivery and then I was back to prepregnancy size with very little effort by the time I weaned my son at around a year.

  • I got some tough news yesterday. Dr does not expect me to carry baby to 35w, and he said he would be "delighted" if I made it to 30w and that I'm likely looking at an c-section. It was a lot of news to take in for one appointment, so I am still trying to figure everything out... I am completely not prepared for a C-section, and now I have to be prepared at "any time" things could go wrong.

QOTW: I don't know. =P Last time I checked it was around 8lbs, but that was a month ago at my last OB-GYN appt... I don't get my weight checked at my peri's office. I am 26 weeks along, and I only wanted to gain 15-20 for this pregnancy, so I feel on track... but now I am not so sure!

Good luck and see you next week!

  • Hi, my name is Kelley. I am 32, 5 months pregnant with my first child, and I have Factor V. I am currently on Lovenox, and I have had some issues with it in the fact that my boyfriend has given me a really hard time for taking it. He has not been supportive with me taking the drug, because he feels that I don't know for sure if I will get a blood clot, and he doesn't think that I should take a drug if I don't need it. I have taken him with me to the high risk doctor, and he was pretty impossible in there, and at the end of the meeting said to the doctor that he was "practicing" medicine! I was totally embarassed.

He has continually been giving me stress throughout this pregnancy (now I have an eye twitch!) about the temperature of the thermostat, and drawing a warm bath because it might raise his bills. On top of that I am supposed to be moving in with him once he gets the renovation finished on his house. I am really nervous about this, and I could use some advice. Please help!

    Hi, ladies!

So far, I'm up about 34 lbs.  It's a smidge higher than I'd like to be but overall not too bad IMO and in my OB's.  As of my last appt with the peri, the babies were estimated at 4lbs 4oz and 3lbs 6oz so we're happy about that.

I'll be making the switch from Lovenox to Heparin soon.  For those who've already been thru the switch, how was it?  I know it'll be another shot (3xs a day vs 2xs a day with Lovenox) but does Heparin sting any less?

  • Had a checkup on Monday, so far so good. Talked to the doc about when to make the switch to Heparin since my first daughter was born at 37 weeks, and decided to switch over at 35.  One more appointment to go before we decide when to induce, and we still have SO much to do to get ready!

QOTW: 20 lbs exactly.  With Hannah, I gained 30 lbs total, which seems to be right about on track for where I am now.  It's more than I wanted to this time, since I started out a little heavier than I was at the beginning of my first pg, but the doc doesn't seem concerned.

  • No baby yet!!  I had a failed induction earlier in the week, so they're trying again on Monday.  I'll keep you posted!!

  • Wow, this list has really grown!!

QOTW: I am still down about 8 pounds from pre-pregnancy weight.  Please don't hate me!

I am really loving this stage of pregnancy.  I can feel him move around so much and more frequently too....  I can't describe the relief it brings me each morning when I feel him.  After so many losses, to have finally gotten to a point where I don't have to anxiously wait for each doctor's appointment or u/s to make sure the baby was still alive...  I'm just feeling very blessed.  I pray this baby keeps growing inside another 18 weeks!

  • I will be 27 weeks on Sunday and am up 15 pounds this time around (I was up 31 pounds last pregnancy at this same time).

  • Wow the list has grown so much!!

I switch from Lovenox to Heparin this coming Monday.  Also my due date has been bumped up to 7/13.  Scary but I'm ready!

QOTW:  Once I was diagnosed with GD and I started on the GD diet I lost around the same amount of weight I had gained.  So as far as numbers go I am pretty much the same weight I was when I found out I was pregnant.  I have to add though that before getting pregnant I was a bit overweight so I wasn't suppose to gain much in the first place.  My Dr. is not worried at all about the weight loss.  She says it's actually pretty normal with GD.

I hated the heparin shots. It doesn't sting any less and it just felt 'heavier' going in if that makes any sense.

  • I am 12 weeks today and started heparin today. I iced up this AM but still have an ugly purple bruise. I tried injecting more quickly this evening and the burning seemed much worse later. I iced up really well beforehand. I would love some tips as a newbie!

I lost 2 lbs and have gained it back. I am a bit overweight so am not supposed to gain much over the pregnancy anyways!

  • I'm doing really well. I feel great, just bigger. Smile It's getting to be where there's only about a 4 square inch spot on my belly where I can do the shots with minimal pain, so I've got a pretty permanent-looking green bruise there. Oh, well.

QOTW: I think I've gained about 12 pounds so far. It's all in my boobs and belly, though, so I'm OK with it. I'm very glad that I'm not gaining it all over. I'm carrying really low, though, so it's very hard to keep my underwear from falling off. Is that normal?  Haha.

  • Sorry I have been MIA for so long.  Last week I switched to heparin, which feels like a milestone.  I have noticed 'dull' bruises and swelling around the injection site.  I haven't bruised in a very long time- since maybe before 20 weeks?  At my last appointment I talked to my doctor about scheduling my induction.  She said they won't induce until my cervix has shown some progress, but they won't let me go passed 40 weeks.  I've had it in my head all along that I'd have a baby at 39 weeks, and now the possibility of another week seems pretty awful.  I know it's only one week though.

QOTW- I've gained about 50 lbs (at almost 37 weeks).  I am not too alarmed bc everyone in my family has gained 40-80 lbs.

I personally don't ice and get about 1 bruise a week.  It all depends on where you hit really.  I'm doing lovenox, not heparin, but I inject really slow.  It seems to sting less that way for me.
  • I have no new bruising thankfully!  I am currently 7lbs less than I was pre-BFP and have not seen the scale go up yet at 17 weeks 1 day.

  • QOTW: at my appointment last week (12 w) I was down 2 pounds.  I'm fine with that considering I gained 25 with the two miscarriages prior to this pregnancy.

  • I am new to this message board. I tried to get some advice last week, but no one replied. I am 21 weeks pregnant with Factor V. I have gained 19 lbs so far. Please put me on the list, and if someone could read my earlier post I would appreciate it. I have decided to live at my house and not move in with the boyfriend because of how terrible e has been throughout this whole thing. My EDD is 11/11/10 -Kelley
