I can't believe your parents are not talking to you. I am sorry this is happening. Don't let it get to you but rather take advantage. I think it was lame for you to find out from your sister rather than your parents themselves.

On another note, will this "not talking" give you a break for a little while?

If you injure someone who is fragile you can't turn around and blame the injury on their fragility. Same thing here. Even if you are overreacting (which I don't think you are), they are still the ones that caused the injury and they are still at fault and responsible for the full damages.

I'll take my nerdy lawyer hat off now.
