Hey GIRLS! Has anyone heard of this? So RE wants to try the following:
-they need to see me tomorrow, 6/25 for baseline
-start femara on 6/26 for 5 days till 7/30
-start Follistim 75 units on 7/1, 7/2 and 7/3
-midcycle check on 7/3
They want to see how I am responding on 7/3 and then go from there to determine if I need more Follistim. WDYT?
Re: Any1 heard of this? Femara and Follistim during same cycle...
I've never seen fmera and injects but some of the girls here have done clomid and injects, which is basically the same thing, I think.
It sounds like a good idea to me. You can probably use less injects and get more bang for your buck with the femera helping things out first.

Yes, my RE was talking about doing that with me. The only reason we didn't is because the femara made me SO sick and I didn't respond very well. So we moved to straight injectibles instead.
They do that so you only get a few small follies from the femara and then they use the follistim to grow them big and strong. There is less risk of too many follies then when you're on straight injectibles. Plus it's cheaper because you're using less meds.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Sounds like the same thing (just different meds) my RE is doing with me. I took clomid for 5 days and then after seeing how the follies look (next u/s is tomorrow) I might be taking Bravelle to strengthen any lead follies.
Good luck!
I have been lurking on IF a lot lately. I know there was at least one person over there that showed a femara plus injects cycle. I hope it works for you!
Best of luck!
