Knottie Here With A Question...

Hi Mommies and Mommies-To-Be,

While I am busy enjoying planning our wedding which is taking place in 5 months we are also planning to conceive hopefully on our honeymoon. I have been reading up on preparing yourself....and came across last night RAVE reviews on the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor which is suppossed to be exteremly accurate when tracking your peak days, etc. I have been off of BC for quite sometime now and am very regular so I think it would be a great tool for us,  but wanted to get your opinions. Have you used this or heard anything about it?

  Thank you!

Re: Knottie Here With A Question...

  • Congratulations on your engagement.

I can't comment on the CBE monitor, but I did read Taking Charge of Your Fertility.  I charted for several months prior to actually trying to get pg, and then luckily got pg the first month I combined charting with an inexpensive box of over the counter ovulation sticks.

    Good luck!

  • I've heard good things about it. I didn't use anything so I can't speak first hand, but I've heard good things about the monitor and Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Good luck!
  • COngratz!

I didn't use the Fertility monitor but heard of few people here and other sites who have used it and got pregnant right away so good luck!

I read, 90days before conception, to get my body and DH's body healthy before actually trying... got pregnant 2nd month!

Good luck! and have fun! and don't stress yourself out if it doesn't happen right away! :) HAVE FUN!!!!!

  • Aw, good luck with your wedding!

For us, I tracked my periods and ovulation times on mymonthlycycles.com, and we got pregnant on the first try.  I thought it would take much longer, especially since I am missing half an ovary due to ovarian cysts, but I guess we lucked out.

Have fun on your wedding day and your honeymoon!

  • Congrats on your upcoming wedding.  I can't comment...DD was the first egg out of the gates.
  • Thank you girls so much!! Hopefully I will be joining you in the next few months....Can't wait :)

    ?

    hehe.. both my babies were....?

  • I used one for 3 or 4 cycles and sold it.  Here's why:

My cycles are long -- like 37+ days.  Because of that, I was going through almost 20 sticks per month (at $1/each) some months because it would always ask me for a stick on CD9.  Then it would give me a "high" reading from CD10 until ovulation, and the day I ovulated it gave me my "peak."  It really didn't tell me anything I didn't already know through temping and OPKs.

But, some people swear by it.  And if you decide to buy one, try Ebay.  I got mine for $90, brand new, including shipping.  And you can usually find the sticks on Ebay or Amazon for $30/box, shipping included.

    Good luck!

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • I also charted with the help of TCOYF. ?I temped and used Maybe Mom ferning microscope for additional verification. ?We got pg the first time we didn't avoid. ?GL!
  • Did not use the monitor. But i did chart on FertilityFriend.com. It took 7 months even though my cycle was very regular and could even tell when i was ovulating because i would get mid-cycle cramps. GOod luck!
